Creator Services Assistant, Digital Fiction (Contract)

We are a rapidly growing digital entertainment and storytelling company with users and creators from all over the world. With the $600 million acquisition of Wattpad in 2021, now we have a combined monthly user base of 166 million people. By working closely with Wattpad, WEBTOON is planning to bring more innovations to the online publishing industry and reward writers through a new premium service. You will be an early hire of Digital Fiction Group that will leverage WEBTOON and Wattpad’s unmatched library of IP, powered by a new generation of creators, and the technology to create hits in every genre. 

We are seeking a passionate and avid web novel reader to help onboard creators and manage our digital fiction library. You’ll use your existing knowledge of the digital-first space to help evaluate stories from both established and indie content creators for acquisition. You will then be responsible for helping to onboard these creators, communicating technical issues as content is uploaded, and fielding other creator questions after content has gone live within the platform.   • Develop a deep understanding of digital fiction readers and the types of stories that resonate with them.
  • Read and evaluate manuscript submissions for acquisition potential.
  • Support the preparation of creator onboarding materials.
  • Provide administrative support to creators, including training, assisting with content upload, communicating feedback, fielding creator questions, and processing performance reports.
  • Collaborate with product team on UX updates to backend, quality control, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A love of web fiction and serialized storytelling with a deep knowledge of popular tropes and trends.
  • 1+ years of editorial, customer service, quality control, or other relevant publishing experience.
  • B.A. degree or higher.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across multiple departments and time zones.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A process-oriented mindset with the ability to centralize many moving pieces.
  • A motivated self-starter who is always willing to learn new skills.
  • Comfortable getting in the weeds with numbers.
